Binding Terms
By requesting a Bypass Key or accessing the ALMA platform, you are entering a private digital atelier. This is a binding agreement between you and Aunty Alma ("ALMA," "we," "us"). If you do not agree to these terms, the velvet rope remains closed — you may not access the service.
These Terms of Service work alongside our Privacy Policy, which governs how we collect, use, and protect your data. Together, they form the complete terms of your relationship with ALMA.
Age Requirement
By entering the Atelier, you affirm that you are at least 18 years of age. ALMA is designed for adults. We do not knowingly provide services to anyone under 18.
This aligns with our Privacy Policy, which states that ALMA does not intentionally collect personal information from minors. If you are under 18, please do not use this service.
Soft Launch Access
ALMA is currently in a limited Soft Launch phase. During this period, access is strictly controlled via unique Bypass Keys.
Limited Nature
These keys are temporary access mechanisms designed for our early-access cohort.
Transition to Public Access
Upon General Availability, the requirement for a Bypass Key will be retired in favor of standard account registration. Existing soft-launch accounts will transition seamlessly to the full platform.
Non-Transferable
Bypass Keys are assigned to individuals and may not be sold, shared, or traded.
Medical Disclaimer
ALMA provides a clinical blueprint for hair care based on biological data. Our recommendations are crafted by algorithms informed by texture science and ingredient research.
Not Medical Advice
We are trichology-informed, but we are not doctors. Our "decoding" is for informational and styling purposes only. Our recommendations are not medical prescriptions, dermatological diagnoses, or clinical directives.
The Final Call
While our logic is precise, the final decision to apply a product rests with you. Always perform a patch test. We are not liable for adverse reactions to third-party formulas. For scalp conditions, allergies, or medical concerns, consult a licensed trichologist or dermatologist.
Proprietary Architecture
The "ALMA Architecture" — including our 426 conflict rules, proprietary recommendation logic, scoring pipeline, and editorial content — is the sole property of Aunty Alma.
The Restriction
You may not reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our conflict logic for commercial use. The blueprint stays within the atelier.
Affiliate Disclosure
Transparency is our standard. ALMA features curated products via elite partners (e.g., ShopMy, Rakuten, Impact).
Commissions
When you purchase through our links, we may earn an affiliate commission. This does not influence our clinical logic — we only recommend what the data supports.
Third-Party Transactions
We provide the link; the retailer provides the product. Any issues with shipping, returns, or product quality must be handled directly with the merchant. Once you leave ALMA via an affiliate link, that partner's privacy policy governs any data collected during your purchase.
ALMA does not share your hair biology profile with affiliate partners. Your data stays in the atelier.

Privacy Cross-Reference
Your data rights — including access, correction, portability, and erasure — are detailed in our Privacy Policy. As outlined there, you may exercise these rights at any time by contacting us at concierge@joinalma.app.
Your data is processed using infrastructure partners as described in our Privacy Policy. All product recommendation logic runs locally on your device.

Termination
You may delete your account at any time. Per our Privacy Policy, we initiate a 30-day "Cooling-Off" period before permanent erasure. During this window, your data is securely archived and inaccessible to the platform. If you return within 30 days, your rituals will be exactly where you left them.
After the Cooling-Off period, all personal data is permanently and irreversibly deleted. Anonymized, aggregated data (which cannot be linked back to any individual) may be retained for algorithm improvement, as described in our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to revoke Bypass Keys for any user who violates the clinical integrity or terms of the platform.
Boundaries
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ALMA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Our recommendations constitute informational guidance only — you remain solely responsible for all product application decisions. We provide the blueprint; you bring it to life.
Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of San Mateo County, California.
Amendments
We may update these terms as our architecture evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Bypass Key — or, upon General Availability, your ALMA account — constitutes acceptance of the latest version of the blueprint.
Transparency
As an Amazon Associate, ALMA earns from qualifying purchases.
Manufacturer Discrepancies
While we work to ensure that product information is correct, on occasion manufacturers may alter their ingredient lists. Actual product packaging and materials may contain more and/or different information than that shown on our platform. We recommend that you do not solely rely on the information presented and that you always read labels, warnings, and directions before using or consuming a product. For additional information about a product, please contact the manufacturer directly.
